This Event Took Place Sat. Oct 26, 2013

Description

Black & Blue Trail Marathon mixes both trail and road running.  With just about 6 miles of road/bike path and over 20 miles of singletrack, it leaves an open field for those wanting to try their hand at a trail race.  Don't be fooled by the fact that it is in Memphis, though - it has more elevation gain than Scenic City Trail Marathon in Chattanooga!

TRANSFERS!

I know, I know - you never thought you would see the day when a trail race around the South actually allowed transfers!  Well I am glad to let you know that I will grant entrant transfers UNTIL October 19th, 2013.  I am making this easy to prevent people from banditing this race, which is dangerous to do for medical reasons.  SO, if you registered and get scared or you find out you have another commitment that weekend, your friend Sally can take your spot - but you two sort out the $$ amongst yourselves.  If I find out you ran under someone else's bib number and did not take advantage of this simple procedure - you will not be allowed to participate in any race I put on.  Ever.  There will be no refunds.

A Family Affair

In addition to the race that day, Meeman-Shelby Forest is also having the 2nd annual 'Heritage Festival' that day from 10am-5pm.  There will be "Living History demonstrations, bluegrass, folk, and country music, old timey foods, games, crafts, tomahawk throwing and black powder demonstrations, wildlife programs and many other attractions."  So bring your family out to enjoy a beautiful day at the Forest while your friend or family member enjoy the race!
