Tumbledown 10k

Are you ready to challenge the trails at Cooper’s Furnace and Pine Mountain? This race will begin in front of the old iron furnace (Cooper’s Furnace) on the jeep road and quickly move to single-track trail to the summit of Pine Mountain. But it won’t feel very quick… the Start is 720 feet of elevation and the summit is 1562. Be prepared for a strong climb! Once at the summit, the race finishes the east loop of Pine Mountain and follows the Cooper’s Furnace nature trail back to the start. The old Furnace will be the perfect backdrop for our finishers!
Start is at 9:00 am
The route is 80% single track in a rough figure-eight. There will be aid at about mile 1-1/2, 3 and 4-1/2. This is a trail race and distances are not exact. The aid stations will have water, Gatorade, PB&J, oranges and bananas. The start and finish will be at Cooper’s Furnace Day Use area next to the Etowah River.

This is a great trail for trail runners and I train here often. It is not groomed and it is not flat. This will not be your 10k PR. Be prepared for a good challenge. When you cross that finish line, you will know you have done something!

Finishers will receive a dry-weave t-shirt. Overall and Age Group winners will receive a unique award made from recycled materials. Age Groups: 14 and under, 15 to 19, 20 to 24, 25 to 29, 30 to 34, 35 to 39, 40 to 44, 45 to 49, 50 to 54, 55 to 59, 60 and over.

All proceeds from this event will go to Cartersville Flight Force Booster Club in support of Devil Rays Tumbling & Trampoline Team.
