We have not seen any news/updates about the run this weekend. Is everything still on track?

I was similarly curious last year, as the government was in a shut down during the time of the run. We still ran, and it's gotta be the same story this year--we run!

Hahaha.
We will run. No doubt.
This is Shaun.

Things are looking good and if we get the forecasted rain, it will be a nice break from the sand.
Safe travels my soon the be friends.

Are there any other accommodations available the night before the race other than the campground or Holiday Inn? Holiday Inn is booked for the 10th. Thanks!

I've stayed at the Best Western Canyon de Chelly Inn, down the street. Just checked and rooms are available for the 10th. $89-99.

http://book.bestwestern.com/bestwestern/US/AZ/Chinle-hotels/BEST-WESTERN-Canyon-De-Chelly-Inn/Hotel-Overview.do?propertyCode=03126&group=&srcPage=SelectHotel&isMapOpen=false&selectedHotels=

Thanks, Mike. Got a room at the Best Western. Was also a bit curious about the relative silence regarding the race, especially this close to race day. Run we shall! (hopefully!)

Also look into Sacred Canyon Lodge. It's next to the campground and is Navajo owned.
This is Shaun. Everything is good to go. We are currently making the awards and are having a blast.

I've never visited Canyon de Chelly and can't think of a better way to see it for the first time than by running this race! What do folks do for lodging for the race weekend? Any convenient and good camping nearby?

I think you can camp there near the start, or there's a holiday inn. On the race web page there's a link.

Great camping across from the starting line. Less than $15 for a site. It has real bathrooms with running water, but no showers. We camped there last year for the race. Last year they also let you camp AT the starting line (porta potties available) for free.

Good call Megan.
Jason, the Park service has an established campground within a 5-10 minute walk. There is a holiday inn with in a 2 minute walk.
ALSO, we will have the poppers at the starting line the day before so you can camp right at the start line.
Let me know if I can do anything for you.

I want to get on the wait list, but it asks for $$. Will I be charged if I don't get selected to run?
