Hey everyone, this is going to be my 1st ultra and was curious if anyone has run this race before. I was mainly interested in the profile of the race. What is the terrain and elevation gain like? Any punchy spots, rolling hills, switchbacks, rough and muddy? Any info would be greatly appreciated

Patrick-see the following post from the WIld Azalea Runners facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1391359727781225/search/?query=elevation). As well as our Webpage (https://www.wildazaleatrail.com). These pages are a good point of entry for all things Wild Azalea. To answer your question in basic format the trail has no switchbacks, the soil is sandy based so good drainage and footing are the norm. The trail is predominate long rolling hills and low point are not too mudy. Of course, if it monsoons the day of the race (which has happened) then the Wild Azalea Trial will not take prisoners.
