Welcome to the 5th annual Bandit ULTRA Trail Run!
We are excited to welcome you to our 5th annual Bandit Ultra Trail Run & Events. The 50K ULTRA returns for the 3rd year, and is definitely one of the most grueling races in Southern California (not for beginners). The challenging and popular 30K and 15K races are back - is this the year You go for it? The 6K race - for experienced trail runners and beginners alike - returns with the first half of the run on the beautiful Hummingbird Trail, and finishing at the Bandit Village in historic Corriganville Park. The feedback and constructive comments we've received for the first four years has been fantastic and our runners have raved about the support, swag and medals they earned. We will deliver the same quality and challenging race to you this year. Grab a friend and come run with us!
50K
In a nutshell you will be climbing four peaks (elevation change of 6,000+ ft) 60% fire roads and 40% single track.
The grueling terrain inspires the true grit spirit an endurance runner has right from the start with a 1.85 mile rise (from 1,115 elevation to 2,400 elevation) that carries on to a total of 3,750 ft. In the end you will have run UP close to 12,000 feet (that's about 2.25 miles). MORE DETAILS!
30K
This is no walk in the park so don’t let the first loop around Corriganville fool you. This race is TOUGH. You must prepare! What goes up must come down…and then go back up AGAIN. Course elevation changes are intense right from the start. In a nutshell you will be climbing two peaks (elevation change of 3,700 ft) 60% fire roads and 40% single track.
15K
How about single-track trail and mostly fire roads straight up race past the Rocky Peak (elevation 3,750)? Sound like your type of “fun” then this is the race for you. This race has been run by many and revered by all as “one tough muth’a” (shut your mouth!).
A short flat start of about a quarter mile leads you to the gnarly switchback up the throat of the Corriganville Trail intersecting with the Rocky Peak Trail where you continue UP past the peak and Old Johnson’s Trail, to the turnaround station at the top of the Chumash Trail. This is an out-and-back trail but the incredible view is completely different on your return DOWN.
6K!
We carved off part of The Bandit Ultra Run so you could have a “taste” of one of the toughest 50K Ultra Runs in the United States.
Since the original Bandit Trail Run was created, we have had to turn away eager runners looking for a shorter yet challenging test of their trail skills, wit and strengths.
Join us in 2013 for the 2nd Bandit 6K Trail Rush!
The race begins at Hummingbird Trail climbing gently (yeah, right) up to the Rocky Peak Trail intersection then heads all the way DOWN through the winding switchbacks of Corriganville.
Visualize the letter V, upside down with a peak elevation of 1000 feet in the middle.
Each finisher earns a medal and of COURSE a cool t-shirt and Goodie Bag!
Be one of the first to participate in special Inaugural race – sign up, start the training and be prepared to have your trail socks blown off!
Happy Trails
