Dizzy Fifties - November 19, 2011
50km | 40 Miler | 50 Miler

What's with the Name

*All the loops and turns should be enough to make anyone dizzy :) Actually, its not really that bad on the turns, but 5 southern loops and 5 northern loops does tend to make one's head spin a bit.

*It's named in honor of my new Border Collie, Dizzy. I have a great Labrador Retriever, Miles, and he runs with me, but at 90 lbs, he gets tuckered out after about 3-4 miles. Dizzy is my next hope for a 'trail dawg'.

*A dog we kept for a friend, was named Trane, for John Coltrane. In keeping with that, when we decided to get a Lab, we named him Miles, for Miles Davis, a contemporary of Coltrane's. Also, I wanted a running companion, so that sorta worked too. So Dizzy is of course named for Dizzy Gillespie. We're pretty jazzed up about both of them.
