The Tuscobia Winter Ultra is a run, bike or ski event held on the Tuscobia State Trail in Northern Wisconsin... in the middle of winter. Participants can compete in the 150-mile, 75-mile or 35-mile event.
The 150-mile race is a qualifying event for the 2014 Iditarod Trail Invitation (ITI). In 2012, the Tuscobia Winter Ultra will be providing a 2014 ITI entry ($1,000 value) to a finisher of the 150-mile event!! See website for details.
Events
All distances are unsupported (no crews or pacers). There will be mandatory checkpoints, which will be heated and will have food/beverages. Please visit the website for full details.
- The 150-mile race will start and finish at the Chequamegon Canoe Club (CCC) in Park Falls, the turnaround will be the southern terminus of the trail in Rice Lake. This race has gear requirements - check the website for details and ensure you are prepared to have the required gear before you register for the race. No refunds.
- The 75-mile race will start at the Rice Lake trailhead and finish at the CCC in Park Falls. This race has gear requirements - check the website for details and ensure you are prepared to have the required gear before you register for the race. No refunds.
- The 35-mile race will start in Ojibwa and finish at the CCC in Park Falls. This race has gear recommendations (see website), and is a great distance to dip your toe in the water and figure out what winter ultras are all about.
