Test your 2014 resolutions on this 5 kilometer race along the pristine sands of Scarborough State Beach. The course is fast and flat, but with a few tricky spots to keep your attention. Runners will cross open grass, sandy beach, and single track trail while negotiating the 3.1 mile course that stretches from Scarborough Beach to Black Point Fishing Area. Beautiful ocean views. Race is at low tide so there will be plenty of packed sand to run on.
Open to all ages. No dogs. No strollers. Headphones strongly discouraged.
Prizes for top overall, age group, and team finishers.
Don't forget to bring two items for our food drive. We collect non-perishable food donations at each of the races in the series for the local food pantry. Last year, racers provided nearly two thousand pounds of much needed items over the five events.
Race #2 of 5 in the 4th Season Race Series. Series championship points will be awarded to top 6 overall places for each gender, top 3 places for each age group, and top 4 teams.
