Course Description

15k Course: The trail run will start at Shelter 1 (upper playground area). Runners will leave the shelter and run the paved road for .4 mi. to hit the Cumberland Plateau Trail (red blazes), next to the large stone bridge. Runners will run to the Byrd Creek Trail junction. Here runners will follow the yellow blazes to the Cumberland Overnight Trail (blue blazes). From here runners will make the overnight loop and rejoin the Byrd Creek Trail (yellow blazes) to the Byrd Creek Trail head. At the end of the trail runners will run the paved road .5 mi. back to Shelter 1 to finish the run.

3.6 mile Run Course: The trail run will start at Shelter 1 (upper playground area). Runners will leave the shelter and run the paved road for .4 mi. to hit the Cumberland Plateau Trail (red blazes), next to the large stone bridge. Runners will follow the Cumberland Plateau Trail (red blazes) for .6 of a mile to the Byrd Creek Trail junction. From here runners will follow the Byrd Creek Trail (yellow blazes) for 2.1 miles to the Byrd Creek Trail head. At the end of the trail runners will run the paved road .5 mi. back to Shelter 1 to finish the run.

1.8 Mile Fun Run Course: The trail run will start at Shelter 1 (upper playground area). Runners will leave the shelter and run the paved road for .4 mi. to hit the Cumberland Plateau Trail (red blazes), next to the large stone bridge. Runners will run the 1 mile Cumberland Plateau Loop and run the .4 mi. paved road back to shelter 1 to finish the run.
