100 K INFORMATION BELOW

100 K Course

The 100 kilometer trail run will travel over much of the same, although not identical, trails that have become so popular for the endurance mountain bike event. The runners will tackle the trails with their own unique direction, twists, loops, and turns, including some extra special trails that will be reserved solely for the running competitors. The trails will wind through the beautiful, varied, and frequently challenging terrain of Southern New Hampshire. The planned course is primarily one single loop. The trail boss is scheming on a few nice changes to make the course better than ever in 2014.

Estimated course components:
• 6% Public dirt roads
• 3% Paved
•35% Doubletrack/Woods road-clean
•25% Jeep/ATV/Rustic doubletrack
•31% Singletrack/Hiking trails
•7500 feet estimated elevational gain

A detailed course description will be available once spring trail clean up has been completed.

100 K Race Cutoff

There will be a strict 14 hour cutoff for completion. (We may eek out a 10-15 minute earlier start this year, {hence a 5:30 AM start, or nearly so) if a hint of daylight shines upon us. These precious minutes, if any, will extend the 14 hour completion time. )The varied terrain of this course may be exhilarating, but it will present a significant challenge to some to make it to the finish in the allotted time. If interim cutoff times at each aid station are not met, you will be escorted back to the venue by SAG wagon. No exceptions. This is for the safety of all---competitors and volunteers alike.

NOTE: This event only allows registration for a 100 kilometer event. As outlined in the Runners Participant Guide, there will, however, be an opportunity to convert what might have been a DNF on the 100K to a published time/finish for 50 miles, This allows recognition of a runner's strong efforts for the day, although they were ones that did not result in a full 100 K romp. No prizing or awards will be given on this option beyond the published 50 mile time.

100 K Course Restrictions

Please note that the course crosses many private landowner areas, and these areas are NOT open for pre-running. Doing so will jeopardize future editions of the event. We take seriously the privacy rights of our generous landowners, and expect all participants to do likewise. Several public access trails that are available for sampling will be published for consideration prior to event day.

100 K Event Logistics

Registration fee includes entry, aid stations with food and fluids, SAG wagon support, post-race meal, complimentary campsite at the start/finish venue (no hookups, but within sight of the start/finish line), showers, participant souvenirs, festivities, and awards to top finishers. Please note that the complimentary camping is only for Saturday night. No Friday or Sunday camping allowed at venue.

If a racer does not wish to take advantage of the complimentary Saturday evening rough camping at the venue, more traditional overnight lodging, for a fee, may be found in the area. Helpful links include the Greater Peterborough Chamber of Commerce, Visit NH, and Greenfield State Park.

For participants planning any necessary air travel to the event, we recommend Manchester-Boston Regional Airport as one convenient alternative, located approximately 35 miles from the venue.

Racers will be responsible for the information in the Runners Participant Guide. This document will be updated, as needed, throughout the pre-event period. The final version of the document will also be available at the venue.

100 K Mandatory Check-In

All racers are generally expected to pick up their racer packet on Saturday, the day before the race, between the hours of 2 – 9 PM, at the start/finish venue at Oak Park. There may be an opportunity for Sunday morning pick-up for those that cannot get to the venue on Saturday without undue hardship. This is packet pick-up only. No new registrations will be allowed on Sunday morning. Participants must pick up their own packets. Photo ID is required. If you are under the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian must also be present.

For those looking for a hint of trail terrain, check out the videos of past mountain bike events held on some, but not all of, the same trails. (For example---don't expect to see the railroad grade and bridge on race day----it's only for the bikers!)
