RACE DAY TRACKING
The 2016 Race begins at 6:00 am on Friday, June 3 and there is a 32 hour time limit to complete the course. If you would like to track any runners, you can do so using the Ultralive.net website: WWW.ULTRALIVE.NET
The 2016 race start and finish area is located at north parking of Lake Cuyamaca Recreation Area which is located 9 miles southwest of Julian, CA on state Hwy 79. All runners are reminded the 2016 event will start at 6:00am PDT on Friday, June 3, 2016 with the completion cutoff of 32 hours ending on Saturday, June 4, 2016.
The San Diego 100 course is a 90% single track mountain course which covers four recreational areas in the east county mountains of San Diego. The 2016 start and finish area are located at the south parking area of Lake Cuyamaca Recreational Area. The course includes trails traversing sections of the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT), Noble Canyon, the Cuyamaca and the Anza Borrego State Parks, and Mt Laguna Recreational Areas. A very challenging course with approximately 26,000' feet of total elevation change (13k climb & 13k descent) with a 32 hour time limit. Selected runners must agree to the strictly enforced limit of one crew vehicle which includes any pacers that are helping the runner.
The 2016 event will again have a Solo Division to recognize all runners who opt to run the entire race without the support of a crew or pacers with spectators only allowed to meet Solo runners at the start and finish line. All finishing Solo runners will receive special awards to include a unique belt buckle. Solo runners will have to rely on their drop bags and the aid stations for all support. Solo runners are allowed to run with other registered runners but must rely on themselves (drop bags) and aid station volunteers throughout the entire race.
