The HtH D2D course is a two mile asphalt loop around Audubon Park in New Orleans. We will start running at dusk, 8:05 p.m., on July 4 and run until dawn, 6:05 a.m., the next morning. You have ten hours to run as many miles as you want or as many miles as you can. But, any miles ran during a lap that is completed after 6:05 a.m. on July 5 will NOT count.
Expect hot temperatures and high humidity. Three years ago I was forced to take my shoes off every two miles and wring the sweat out of my socks so I could avoid squishing while I ran! But, the good news is that the course is a two mile asphalt loop, so you will never be more than a mile away from fluids or dry shoes and socks.
In traditional LUR modified fatass style, the cost to run this event is a nominal $10.00 fee that is due at the time of registration with UltraSignup. The fee is nonrefundable. An optional race t-shirt is available for order at the time of registration for an addition $25.
ThEach runner is responsible for providing his/her own fluid and nutritional items for use during the course of the race. Water fountains and bathrooms are available at the start/finish of each two mile loop.
Starting at midnight, Hotter Than Hell Marathon will be using the same course as H2H D2D. We strongly encourage you to also sign up for HtH. HtH is a non-profit organization that contributes any money you donate to Race MD to finance research for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. In exchange for your donation, HtH will provide you with their race t-shirt, fluids and nutritional items throughout the night. We will post a link to the HtH registration/donation site as soon as it is available.
