New for 2017
As veteran BLU runners will attest, there is something magical about this 5th annual reunion of ultra runners and their families. Known for being one of the best family and crew friendly races around, we have added even more family friendly activities for 2017 and to accommodate the increased demand, we have rented all available cabins. This year, in addition to canoeing being available for free, runners and their supporters will be able to participate in archery activities for free. New for this year, horseback riding sessions, along with rock climbing wall sessions will be available for an additional pass-through fee. All these camper activities will take place on Friday, April 7th (canoeing will also occur on Saturday). On-site lodging for family friends and crew will be limited this year and offered on a first come, first registered basis. Also new for 2017, those runners staying overnight on Friday will be allowed to check-in as early as 9 AM on Friday to take part in the camper activities on Friday.
There are no boundaries at Pathfinder Ranch, one of Southern California’s premier educational sleep away camps! Push beyond your perceived limits on 72 private acres of Wildlife Preserve and surrounding forest meadows situated south of Palm Springs in the San Jacinto Mountains at a comfortable altitude of 4,500 feet. Now entering its 5th year, the Beyond Limits Ultra has established itself as one of the most unique ultra events in the southwest.
What makes this two mile loop event so unique? How about a big runner sleepover where runners sleep on-site, only feet away from the course, in bunk style heated cabins with hot showers. Multi-day races are hard enough, so why not skip the frost covered frozen tent and take your breaks in comfortable warmth. In addition to running, you’ll be reliving your camping youth as you and your fellow runners and crew enjoy mixing it up with the farm animals and horses, canoeing around the lake, climbing the ropes course, and of course making s’mores by the campfire. Did we mention the course meanders all through the ranch where you can keep yourself pleasantly distracted by watching crew and friends enjoy camp activities as you click-off mile after mile. While we are known for having a top of the line aid station, we will be augmenting our daily offerings once again by having Pathfinder’s culinary team deliver a catered breakfast and dinner to the aide station every day. Not to worry, we will still be cooking up lunch, as well as on-demand meals and our own unique goodies like frozen grapes and popsicles. Whether you are running the 72/48/24 hour races, or the 100 mile, 50 mile, or 50K races, you will be treated like a VIP by your fellow ultra running RD’s and their incredible volunteers.
And by the way, if you happen to love race bling, this event is for you! Every runner who toes the starting line receives a large medal, along with a high-end sublimated tech shirt and a goodie bag stuffed full of fun stuff. 100 mile finishers receive a large buckle, while 200 mile finishers receive their own special buckle. The 72 Hour race will begin on Thursday, April 6, 2017, while the 48 Hour race will being on Friday, April 7, 2017. All other races will begin on Saturday April 8, 2017..
72 Hour, 48 Hour, 24 Hour & 100 Mile Registration Includes: on-site bunk style lodging in heated cabins with warm showers, along with twice daily cater meals from Pathfinder’s Culinary team (delivered to the course), aide station food, high-end sublimated tech shirt, swag bag, medals and buckles for 100+ and 200+ mile finishers. Not only do you have your cabin bunk during the entire race, but you also have the bunk the night before your race, so sleep in and wake up just feet from the course! Your registration also includes camp activities (canoeing, campfires, etc.) for you and your crew to enjoy. Also, all 24/48/72 hour and 100 mile runners can join us for the Big BLU Group Dinner on April 7, 2017 to dine with fellow runners and enjoy hearing from our guest speaker. Yes, that means if you are running the 48 or 72 hour race, you would have to take a break. A registration that includes your lodging and tons of old school camping experiences – how cool is that?!?!

Crew, 50 Mile & 50K Lodging Spots: A limited number of bunks will be reserved for crews, along with 50 Mile and 50K runners, and will be available on a first come, first served basis at a cost of $40/night (breakfast and dinner meals included).
