Series Information

This is the first of 5 trail runs in the 5th Annual Be Bold, Run in the Cold Winter Trail Series presented by Ascent Runs. These casual runs were created to keep runners and walker motivated through the winter months and also as a way to supplement your winter training. This series highlights the extensive trail networks surrounding Carson City, NV. Walkers are welcome to any of these events. For the safety of all runners and to keep you guessing, event organizers reserve the right to change course routes and distances based on weather conditions or just for the heck of it. This series is a great trainer for the Escape From Prison Hill Half Marathon and 10K to be held on April 19, 2014.

News - updated 11/17/13

The 10 day weather forecast is looking favorable to extend the long course. The long course will actually be between 7-7.5 miles and not 6M. The short course(4 mile) will remain the same. Remember that registration is open on until midnight on the 22nd. Race day registration will also be available but it will include a $5 procrastination fee, increasing the registration fee to $50 from $45. Same goes for students who register on race day. That fee will increase from $10 to $15 and does not include a Patagonia WTS shirt. Race day registration must be cash, no checks. Because we are trying a new registration system to streamline and simplify the process for everyone involved, bibs for the first run can only be picked up the morning of the run and not prior to. As in previous years, the bib # you receive will be your bib # throughout the Winter Trail Series. So don't throw it away after the run. We are hoping that the shirts will be finished from the printers by Friday evening before the run. If they are not done in time I apologize for any inconvenience. My fault, it's been a busy Fall. If they are not done in time they can be picked up at Ascent Physical Therapy or I will have them for you at our next event in December.

No awards. Just the sweet satisfaction that you overcame the urge to sleep in on a cold winter morning and to go out and burn off some calories that were feeling way to at home.

Packet Pick up

Bib #'s and shirts can be picked up race morning.

So far it is looking good. Calling for mid 50's.
