*Update 2/7/14

Current trail conditions look pretty good. Just wet and muddy in spots. That could change or worsen by morning. Long course will be 7-7.5 miles. Short course will be the usual flat out and back to the dam. Parking is limited so lets try and be as efficient as we can tomorrow. There is one on-site porta potty. The wind is supposed to stay with us so I will give my pre-run spiel now. Last run the wind was so bad no one could hear me and my mouth was so dry I could barely swallow.
Don't forget your bib numbers and wear them in front and keep them visible for course monitors and sweeps to see. If this is your first run you can pick your bib up before the run. This is your bib number for every run in the series so don't throw them away.
Tangerine Design Web & Print - AWESOME! Use them every chance you get.
Ascent Physical Therapy - AWESOME! Use them to get you painfree and keep you that way.
A big thanks to Tahoe Mountain Milers. Upcoming events are a Snowshoe race Feb. 23rd, Pi Run March 14, and Escape From Prison Hill Half Marathon and 10K.
Kaia Fit Minden - great exercise classes and motivation to get and stay fit.
Ask for handouts on above entities at run tomorrow if interested. Probably won't put any out due to the wind.
Remember- Be Bold Run in the Cold!
Please make sure to read all the info on this web page so there are no surprises. Thanks.

Series Information

For the safety of all runners and to keep you guessing, event organizers reserve the right to change course routes and distances based on weather conditions or just for the heck of it. This series is a great trainer for the Escape From Prison Hill Half Marathon and 10K to be held on April 19, 2014.

Awards

No awards. Just the sweet satisfaction that you overcame the urge to sleep in on a cold winter morning and to go out and burn off some calories that were feeling way to at home.

Packet Pickup

Shirts and bibs can be picked up at Ascent Physical Therapy up to the day before the run. Pick up is available race morning if prior arrangements have been made. We highly recommend that everyone register prior to the event, online or mail in, and then pick up event shirt and bib# race morning if they are unable to pick up the day before.

Weather

We'll see what mother nature has in store for us this year. Typically a little colder in the morning along the river.

Directions

From Reno From 395 bypass exit onto Hwy. 50 East. Less than a mile down on 50 you will turn right onto Fairview Dr. (Slotworld is on the corner). About a mile down Fairview, heading south, you will come to a round-about. Go 3/4 around and get onto East 5th Street (basically making a left hand turn). Make first right onto Carson River Rd. Drive past neighborhood and past entry to Silver Saddle Ranch. About a half mile past Silver Saddle Ranch entrance, just before the bridge that goes over the Carson river, there is a parking area on the right hand side. This is Carson River Park. If you drive over the bridge to the other side of the river your GPS will kindly remind you that you just screwed up by announcing "recalculating route". I hate that! The last thing I want to hear is a female voice telling me I'm lost. Anyway, parking is very limited so we will have someone directing parking to maximize the space. Please follow their instructions. These instructions will come from a male voice. Look for blue truck and pop-ups. Park, pay, run, have fun! From Carson City From 395, turn onto Fairview Dr. and head east.
