RRCA Championship Event!
Evergreen Lake 50K is proud to be the 2018 Illinois Road Runners Club of America State Championship Ultra Race!! Special Championship Medals will be awarded for Male and Female overall, Masters, Grand Masters, and Senior Grand Masters!
RACE DAY REGISTRATION
YES, we will have race day registration for both the 25K and 50K! We will NOT have extra race shirts, but all runners will get swag! sign up at either the Friday evening or Sat am packet pickup times.
50K (31.0 mile - 2 Laps)
The 31 mile Ultra will start at 6:30 am. Two 15.5 mile loops. Course will be well marked with surveyor flags. Sunrise is approximately 6:35 am so headlamps or other lighting should not be required. Runners must start the last loop by 12 noon! All finishers will receive an arrowhead medallion. Top 6 males and top 6 females receive a walking stick!
25K (15.5 miles - 1 Lap) Fun Run
The 15.5 mile fun run will start at 7:30 am. All finishers will receive an arrowhead medallion. Top overall male and female will receive a walking stick!
Course Description
One of the more diverse trail ultras in Illinois. A beautiful 15.5 mile loop that consists of wooded single track and open prairie paths. One creek crossing. Scenic views of Evergreen Lake almost the entire way! We will have two full aid stations along the loop, approximately 5 miles apart, and a full aid station at the start/finish.
Shady Hollow Trail Runners
We are a 100% not-for-profit trail running club. Most of the race fees go into the event, the remainder goes to charities. We are an old school, grass roots type running club and we take a lot of care to make this race, one of the best ultras in Illinois.

There will be two opportuniies for packet pickup:
Packet Pickup & Late Race Registration:
Friday evening (9/14/2018) from 4 pm to 6 pm and Saturday (race day) from 5:30am - 7:15am at the "Prairie Picnic Shelter" (40.640779, -89.034239) which is also the Start/Finish for the race. There will be late race registration during packet pickup; you will get some SHTR schwag, but not a race shirt.

Camping
Camping is allowed only in approved camping areas.
We offer FREE CAMPING at a group camping area reserved just a short walk / drive (1/2 mile) from the start/finish! This is a primitive campsite, tent camping only, pit toilets and fire ring/barbecue available. You do NOT need to reserve or register for this camping area, just show up and set up!
If you prefer more amenities, Comlara Park has a large campground with electric hookups and shower/bath house available. These camping reservations must be made through the park. Aid Stations
Three fully stocked aid stations (including the Start/Finish) will have your basic aid-station ultra food. Each Aid Station will be approximately 5 miles apart. Depending on the weather, unmanned aid stations may be added along the course to provide additional water. Gluten free will also be available.
Aid stations will be stocked with Gatorade Endurance.
