Night Sweats Trail Marathon
Fort Baker at Golden Gate National Recreation Area
Come and join the exciting adventures. The marathon begins at 8 p.m. and you will enjoy sights and sounds that can be found at this national treasure. Dates to choose from: March 22 and September 13.
The night marathon begins underneath the Golden Gate Bridge in Sausalito. You will see from several vantage points on the trail the beauty of the lights of San Francisco, Tiburon and the Bay Bridge. We use the entire expanse of Marin Headlands, Golden Gate National Recreation Area. You'll travel well-groomed trails to Rodeo Beach, Muir Beach, while hearing the roar of the ocean and enjoy vistas of the Pacific Coastline.
The trail is marked with glow sticks and reflective ribbon to keep you safely on course. We employ the same safety procedures employed for our 100-mile nighttime events. We recommend that the runners use headlamps and/or flashlights to light up the trail.
There is nothing more peaceful, exciting and satisfying as trail running at night. And, there is no better event that Night Sweats at Headlands.
Staggered Start: We will stagger the start so that the runners will be able to spread out a bit on the trail. Imagine looking across a valley and seeing runners flashlights lit up like stars along the trail.
Time Limit: 7 hours
Check In and Bibs: 6:30 p.m. -- 7:45 p.m. at Fort Baker.
From North - Travel South on 101 toward San Francisco.
Take exit towards Sausalito, right on Alexander Ave. Left of Bunker Rd. Right on East Bunker Road (before tunnel). Continue through a short tunnel and make a right on Murray Circle. Keep right on to Moore Road until you come to an end near the fishing pier.
From South or San Francisco - 101 North over the Golden Gate Bridge. Take exit towards Sausalito, right on Alexander Ave. Left on Bunker Rd. Right on East Bunker Road (before tunnel). Continue through a short tunnel and make a right on Murray Circle. Keep right on to Moore Road until you come to an end near the fishing pier.
We will provide a variety of fresh fruit, salty snacks, salted potatoes, PB&J sandwiches, salt tabs, sugary snacks, Clif bloks, Sports drink, coke, water and more. Additionally, it is highly recommended that runners carry at least 20 oz. of water between aid stations.
All runners will receive a Competitor Champro Sports running shirt that is Dri-Gear fabric and comes in both a men and women's fit.

We will be providing surprise gifts, which will be different at each Night Sweats date.
Awards: Awards will be given to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd female and male finishers. Ribbons are awarded to the female and male 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finisher in each ten-year age group.
