The Sacramento Running Association brings you the new and improved 3rd Annual Gold Rush 50K!
The 2015 event will be 50k-only to allow us to better bring you the ultimate ultra race day experience. Final details on the start, finish, and course are still TBD, but the course will primarily follow rugged and historic gold miner routes on mostly technical, single-track trails, all within the scenic Sierra foothills.
The Gold Rush 50K is a great training run for a summer 100-miler or 100k, and is also a great way for first-timers to dip their toes into the ultra scene.
About the Event Organizer
Local time: 4:26 AM
The Sacramento Running Association (SRA), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, was established in 1982 with the mission of bringing world class running events to the Sacramento area. Since then the success of its flagship event, the California International Marathon, has enabled the SRA to expand its mission to encourage people of all ages to develop a healthy lifestyle through running. As a part of this mission, in 2003 the SRA Board unanimously voted to include allocating a portion of the SRA events’ proceeds to “improving and developing regional running venues.” SRA funds have been used to make American River Parkway running-related improvements and support the creation of the Willow Hill Cross Country Course and Granite Park Cross Country Course (both of which are open to the public).
