This Event Took Place Sat. Oct 25, 2014

SPS is a trail run point series, including 5 mile and half marathon distances. We will count your best 5 out of 6 races in the series. SPS will include six state parks from two states (Idaho and Washington) one race per month from May thru October. SPS will have over $2,000.00 in prizes for the overall series. Come stay the weekend, each of the state parks offer camping and showers!

This year we want you to think of us as your “trail running family” like I have said in the past: “our races are like a family reunion but with people you enjoy!” So this year we will be incorporating a Friday evening potluck meal (we provide the pasta). Plan on staying the weekend at our races and enjoy what these great state parks have to offer.

What if I only want to run one or two of the races? That’s not a problem, pick the race that fits your schedule best and I look forward to meeting you.

What if I am new to trail running? These races are perfect for you, start with the 5 mile runs and give it a shot.

Welcome to our season finale Halloween at Hell's Gate. What a great ride this year has been! I had no way of knowing how wonderful and supportive this trail running community could be and I want to thank all of you so so much! This is our third year at Hells Gate State Park and this race will mark the season finale for the State Park Series. If you would like to see the current standings visit our Facebook page.

This year is bigger and better! SPS #6 will be our biggest prize and swag giveaway yet! Thank you Saucony for the overall 1st-3rd place giveaway prizes. We also have custom trophies from Backyard Creations (1st-3rd place age group winners). Remember we take your best 5 of 6 races and tally the points based on that.

Come enjoy some milder October weather in Lewiston, Idaho. Not only is Hells Gate State Park open for tent and cabin camping year round, but you and your little ones can camp out and enjoy the beautiful fall colors. The average temperature in October is a high of 52 and a low of 41. Perfect for a trail run!

Camping at this time of the year is on a first come first serve basis so no need for reservations. After the race on Saturday we will be serving our popular Taco soup (Vegan options also), if you have a sweet tooth no need to worry I got your back! And how about some adult beverages, I don't think I would have a race without them! Stick around and cheer on all the finishers. And don't forget the awards, tons of stuff.

I am looking forward to hanging out with all of you and if you have not ran with Trail Maniacs your in for a treat. You see we are about the friendships and companionship that trail running gives, we are not about a race medals or trinkets. I think the memories and free race photos are priceless.
