The Sacramento Running Association brings you the 3rd Annual Gold Rush 100K!
Local time: 6:33 PM
The 2015 event will be run on a course similar to the 2014 event, starting and finishing in Folsom, California, 30-miles northeast of Sacramento. The course features significant elevation gains (nearly 9,000 ft) and will follow rugged and historic gold miner routes on mostly technical, single-track trails, all within the scenic Sierra foothills.
The Gold Rush 100K is perfectly timed for runners training for the summer 100-milers including Western States, San Diego 100, Dirt Road & Trails 100, Hardrock, Vermont, Tahoe Rim Trail, Angeles Crest, and Leadville.
The Sacramento Running Association (SRA), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, was established in 1982 with the mission of bringing world class running events to the Sacramento area. Since then the success of its flagship event, the California International Marathon, has enabled the SRA to expand its mission to encourage people of all ages to develop a healthy lifestyle through running. As a part of this mission, in 2003 the SRA Board unanimously voted to include allocating a portion of the SRA events’ proceeds to “improving and developing regional running venues.” SRA funds have been used to make American River Parkway running-related improvements and support the creation of the Willow Hill Cross Country Course and Granite Park Cross Country Course (both of which are open to the public).
