Dog and Their Human Race Added
What better way to end Sin City's premier running festival than to add an afternoon of running fun featuring our four-legged furry friends. After three full days of humans running Beyond Limits, Sunday afternoon will be all about the Dogs and Their Humans running Beyond Limits together. Dogs and Their Humans have the option to compete in either a 5K race or a 10K race. While the race is competitive and podium finishers will win custom dog bowls made by Tracy Thomas from Marvelous Mud, the race is very walker friendly with all finishers receiving matching amulet medals also made by Tracy (one for the furry finisher and one for the human finisher) and matching bandanas. In addition, all furry participants will receive a free bag of Animo, Mas Korima's amazing new endurance dog treat. Animo treats are so well made that dogs routinely share them with their humans. No joke, these treats taste great! To make the finish fun for our little friends, we will have kiddie swimming pools for them to splash around in when done and of course we will have Frosty Paw ice cream for them! Don't miss your chance to run a real race with your furry friend and get them a free bag of the best endurance dog treat on the market.

Course Venue and Description
Bet Big, Run Long. Produced by Beyond Limits Running, the 4th Annual Jackpot Ultra Running Festival takes place on Presidents' Weekend 2017 (February 17-19) at Southern Nevada's newest and largest amenity-filled park.
Local time: 6:28 AM
Located minutes from the Las Vegas strip and just 10 miles from Las Vegas Airport, the $16 million, 100 acre Cornerstone Park is nestled among desert landscape and is anchored by a 31 acre bird sanctuary lake. The lake is surrounded by a massive grass area, entertainment plaza, individual picnic pavilions with lake views, walking/running trails, volleyball and basketball courts, restrooms, BBQ's, a warming kitchen and ample parking. And let's not forget all of the wildlife so many of us got to enjoy as we raced by. The Jackpot course consists of roughly a 2.38 mile loop with 80 feet of elevation ascend/descend per loop (4,000 feet for the 100 mile race). At an elevation of 1,900 feet and average mid-February high/low temperature of 61/45, the Jackpot course is extremely fast. Run on a course that is 45% groomed crushed gravel trails, 50% wide asphalt paths, and just 5% bridge and concrete surfaces, the course is well suited for veteran runners wanting to PR, and with a 30 hour time limit, it is perfect for first time ultra runners. The RFID chip timed race starts at the entertainment plaza and makes a horseshoe type loop around the lake with lots of social runner interactions. Runners will be treated to two small picturesque bridge crossings every loop. The 80 feet of ascend during each 2.38 mile loop occurs gently, without any steep climbs. The Jackpot course is destined to become one of the fastest looped courses in the Southwest.
As with other Beyond Limits Running races, the aid station will be once again heavily stocked to take care of runners' nutritional needs and will serve a variety of hot meals, prepared with an on-site warming kitchen. Awards and runner bling will be very memorable. All runners will receive a unique finisher's medal, with 100 mile finishers earning a large buckle (both new designs for 2017). Both medals and buckles will be appropriately themed (think casinos). Not everything stays in Vegas and every runner will be leaving with memorable bling. As demonstrated during the last three Jackpot Ultra Running Festivals, the race directors go all out when it comes to designing unique awards. First through third place male and female finishers in each race will earn a trophy case quality award, while age group winners in the 100 mile race will receive the same.
Lastly, to create a full-blown festival environment, a live band will perform throughout the day at the start/finish line aid station, and of course Elvis and the Fabulous Las Vegas Showgirls will make another appearance, as will Vegas' best little cheerleaders. Stay motivated and running strong as you listen to one of Vegas' hottest bands. If you haven't figured out already, this is a great vacation getaway ultra. With cheap Southwest Airline flights and 5 affordably priced hotels located 1-3 miles from the race venue, invite family and friends and take full advantage of the 3-day Presidents' Weekend. Enjoy one of Vegas' awarding winning restaurants and catch a show on the strip as you celebrate and recover in style.
