The Belmead Trail Fest course is a 10 mile loop style course. 50 milers will run the loop five times. 50km-ers will run it three times with an additional 1+ mile loop at the end. Marathoners will run the loop twice with an additional 6+ miles at the end. The 10 milers will run the loop once. The trails are well marked and staffed with volunteers to ensure runners stay on course. Runners will also be supplied with course maps and turn-by-turn directions. There are three well-stocked aid stations (3.7 miles, 6.7 miles and 10 miles) and porta-potties will be available at the start and at the second aid station. Please note there is a 12 hour time limit for all runners.
Local time: 6:45 AM
The race will begin at the horse loading area. The first few miles of the course are mainly run on bridle trails that traverse picturesque farmland with easy rolling terrain. Runners will pass by an old slave cemetery, farm fields and woods. The remaining parts of the course are primarily wooded, single and double track trails with several short, but steep climbs. There are also some small stream crossings and depending on the amount of rain, the chance for wet feet is a possibility.
All runners will receive a t-shirt and those who successfully complete their race will receive a finisher's award.
All proceeds will benefit Belmead (francis/emma.org).
