Results for overall TRYathlon solos and 5K participants are up! Team results as well as category results will be posted at www.stepoutdoors.org on the event page. Great job out there everyone!

About the event

As the name implies, the focus is on "trying" rather than winning, on camaraderie rather than competition, on personal challenge rather than place of finish. Assemble a team of two or three people. Run, paddle, and bike your way to the finish! Or, if you feel energetic, complete all three legs of the event as a solo participant. The landscape of the park makes this a great spectator event too!

Course Description: Running/walking a mixture of park roads and trails around the perimeter of the lake for 5 kilometers (~3.1 miles). Paddle around temporary markers in the lake for approximately 1.75 miles. Bike on hard top and dirt roads in and around the park for 8.0 miles. All sections of the course will be the same as in 2013.

New for 2014, the event will include a 5K Trail Run / Walk as a stand-alone option! You will start at the same time and location as the TRYathlon participants and follow the same course. While the event has always encouraged youth and families to participate, now even more youth categories will be offered to reward the younger competitors in the 5K Trail Run / Walk.

5K Age Categories: under 11, 11-14, 15-17, 18-39, 40-59, 60 & over.
Solo TRY Age Categories: under 18, 18 - 39, 40 & over.
Team TRY Age Categories: under 15, 15-17, 18-39, 40 & over (using average age).
All categories will be awarded and seperate for males and females except for under 15 team and 15-17 team categories will be awarded based on age only.
Additionally there will be a 18 & over CO-ED team category.

Please note that kayaks are not provided, but rentals are available from local outfitters. Event sponsor, Canyon Cruises offers a TRY special where your boat is placed at the staging area and they get it when you're done. It doesn't get any easier than that.
