366 Miles of History, from Albany to Buffalo, NY

Coming, August 28 - September 6, 2015... from the organizers of the world famous Beast of Burden 100 & 50 Mile Ultra Marathon 366 Miles from Albany to Buffalo, New York on the flat & fast, natural surface of the towpath along the historic Erie Canal. Tour Upstate New York as only an ultra marathon runner can!

Erie Canal Marathon Tour Options

Ultra marathon runners, traditional 26.2 mile marathoners, and running enthusiasts may register to race any single day, any combination, or all ten of these one-day legs, enjoying aid stations and finish line meals each day.

Through Runners (and relays) who opt to compete in the ten day stage race will receive a cumulative time each day, tallied to comprise their 366 mile finish time when they reach Buffalo, NY on day ten. Individual Through Runners will receive lodging each night and return transportation (if needed) from Buffalo, NY to Albany, NY at the completion of their Erie Canal Marathon Tour journey.

Ultra marathon maniacs may opt to run "Flat Out" and complete all 366 miles unhindered, at their own pace, as a self-supported force to be reckoned with. These athletes will not be required to stop or restart at the check points outlined below. They will be measured by one starting line (in Albany, NY), one finish line (in Buffalo, NY) and a non-stop, relentlessly ticking time clock. Flat Out runners will have a ten day limit to complete the 366 mile distance by 2:00 pm on Day 10. Consistent with their maverick nature and desire to run unhindered by limitations, these athletes will be responsible for providing their own support crew and nutrition.

All runners will receive a stage-specific race gift for each leg completed, finisher hardware, and a lifetime of bragging rights.
