EVENT LOCATION
Welcome to the UTRMA Shangri-La Ultra Marathon. This incredible trail race follows trails through the Meili Snow Mountains, part of the Himalayan Mountains bordering Tibet and Yunnan Province, China. The race starts at 2700 meters (8858 feet) and peaks 3,767 meters (12,359 feet). The combination of altitude, incredible scenery, and the chance to visit a rarely visited part of China, make this a challenging and inspiring destination race.

ITINERARY
Foreign participants can arrive in Shangri-La as early as May 17 and May 19th at the latest. The bus from Shangri-La to the remote start area near Meili Snow Mountain, will leave on May 20th at 9:00 am and arrive about 2:00 pm.
Race day is May 21st. The race starts at 7:00am.
Buses will leave from Meili Snow Mountian on May 22nd at 9:00 am with an expected arrival time in Shangri-La at 2 pm. Please plan on staying the night of May 22nd in Shangri-La and depart May 23rd.
Participants will need a Visa to enter China. Make sure your passport is up to date, with enough extra pages. Plan enough time to obtain a visa prior to registering. You can contact Katie (listed at the top right hand corner) for more information.
