Support our soldiers, past and present this 4th of July!

The Heroes' Challenge is a fundraising event to raise desperately needed funds for local charities which provide critical and much appreciated services to our military and their families.

When called upon, our soldiers are ready to work really hard to keep us free. We thought it was time we worked just as hard to support those who defend us from harm.

We wanted the "ultimate, ultra hard, physical challenge" so we called in the Marines! Brutal little mountains, 4 HC rated climbs—encompassing 13 miles, 3000 feet in elevation changes, grades -13% to +20%. The Marines approved the "39-clicks" (24.2-mile) Bike course (starts 0700)!

and the 1/2 Marathon-PLUS "3-clicks" Run (starts 0830) which only has two little, but very steep mountains. The good news is we did NOT ask the Marines for help designing the 5K+ Walk/Run! so it 3.6-miles course (starts 0930) is basically a walk in the country!

So no matter which course you choose to challenge yourself on, The Heroes' Challenge has it. Perhaps the best news is that the SAG Korean War era Troop Carrier will be sweeping the hills so that ALL participants will be "Returned To Base" by 1100 for a hearty Continental Breakfast.

Each event fee is just $25 ($40 if you wait to register at the Day of Registration Table), and all events start/finish at the school (9731 Washougal River Rd., Washougal WA 98671).

Volunteer

Come from 6:00am to 12:00 (or any hours in-between) and help on one of the 3 Race
Courses! Ride with the Rear Guard (Ham Radio License a great
benefit!). Help direct car traffic at cross traffic intersections. Staff a
water/restroom station. Staff the Back-to-Base Finish Line or the Heroes' Challenge
Continental Breakfast! However YOU help or for ever how long YOU
help... YOU and YOUR efforts will be greatly appreciated!
