Overview

Hickory Knob State Park is located on the shores of Lake Strom Thurmond near McCormick, SC. It is conveniently located about 2.5 hours from Atlanta, 2 hours from Columbia and Greenville, and 3 or so from Charleston and Savannah. The physical address is: Hickory Knob State Park is 1591 Resort Drive, McCormick, SC 29835. At 7:30 a.m, run the 5K (3.4 mi) Turkey Ridge Trail (2 loops of the 1.7 mi trail) 10 Minutes after the 5K ends, the following races kick off: 12K--7.2 miles on the Lakeview Trail 25K--14.4 miles--The Heavy 1/2--2 x Lakeview Trail 42K--26.7 miles--Marathon+--3 x Turkey Ridge + 3 x Lakeview 50K--Run The Knob!--1 x Turkey Ridge + 4 x Lakeview Want a little more distance? Run the 5K plus the 12K, 25K, or 50K. (There's no option to run the 5K & 42K...run the 50K if you are looking for that distance.) Packet Pick Up/Late Registration: Race morning only from 6:30-7:45 am at the Turkey Ridge Trail Head. (approximately 1.5 miles from Hickory Knob State Park entrance) We will not mail packets that are not picked up. Please don't ask...especially a couple of months later.... Aid Stations: Aid will be available during the 5K (water only); water, Gatorade, Powergels, fruit, and ultra runner stuff for 25K, 42K, and 50K. There is no aid station for the 12K. Note: This is a trail run. On the longer races, you'll hit the aid station every 7.2 miles so plan accordingly! Shirts: Guaranteed to all registered by September 31, 2016. After that date, we cant guarantee size or quantity. Awards: Finisher's awards to all completing the 25K, 42K, and 50K. Overall awards (medals) in each race for top Female & Male, Masters Male & Female, Grandmasters Male & Female, top 2 in each 5 year increment age group beginning 14 & under, 15-19, 20-24....70-74+.Post Race: Awards will be given out in each race as soon as results are tallied. There will be post race food and drinks so hang around. Awards will not be mailed unless arrangements are otherwise made.
