Race Info
This is the 2nd race in the Tortoise and the Hare Trail Race Series! We have an exciting race coming to you on the Sutallee trails of Canton, GA just a short drive north of Atlanta. The great thing about the sport of running is the camaraderie among runners. In a typical race, the faster runner (Hare) arrives long before the middle/back of the pack and the slower runner (Tortoise) arrives as the party is ending. How about a race where everyone finishes (approximately) at the same time?! Introducing…the TORTOISE and the HARE HALF MARATHON and 10K™!
Runners estimate their finishing time (for calculator go to (http://www.mcmillanrunning.com) and that will determine your starting time, with runners starting in half-hour waves – Tortoises first! The slower you are, the earlier you begin and the faster you are, the later you begin with the same goal: Finishing at 11 AM. This will bring everyone to the finish in a smaller time frame so there will be lots of fellow runners to celebrate your finish! (Of course, the winners will still be those that complete the course in the fastest time – but with the challenge of navigating around the Tortoises!)
The TORTOISE and the HARE HALF MARATHON/10K™ will be held on Saturday, September 1, 2018!

Schedule of Events
Register at least 24 hours before attempting to pick up your packet. (This race sells out)
You may register at any packet pick up location, while the packet pickup is taking place.
You may pick up packets for your other friends.
Plan to register and pick up your packet before race day if possible. If not, arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your wave start on race morning.

AWARDS
Awards will be held at approximately 11:30. Since this race is unique in that some participants who start later may actually finish before those who started earlier, this award time ensures we are awarding the appropriate runner.
*Those registered by August 20th will receive a guaranteed shirt size. We will always do our best to accommodate everyone's shirt needs. Please register early to ensure we order enough shirts for everyone. Shirts can be exchanged after the event from the remaining shirt sizes in stock.*

Below are a list of frequently asked questions regarding registration and packet pickup:
HOW CAN I REGISTER FOR THIS RACE?
You may register either online, at early packet pick-up the day before the race, or on race day at the registration kiosk. However, this race always sells out.
CAN I PICKUP A PACKET FOR A FRIEND OR FAMILY MEMBER?
Yes.
ARE CREDIT CARDS ACCEPTED AT PACKET PICKUP?
Yes.
WHEN AND WHERE IS EARLY PACKET PICKUP?
Early packet pickup will be held at Big Peach Running Co. located at 1625 Ridenour Boulevard Kennesaw, GA 30152 the Friday evening of the race from 4-7 PM.
AM I GUARANTEED A RACE SHIRT?
Every participant is guaranteed a shirt. Everyone registered prior to August 22nd will have the shirt size they selected during online registration. Packet pickup and same day registrants will receive a shirt on a first come, first serve basis. We do our best to get everyone the size they want.
WHAT IF I NEED TO EXCHANGE FOR A DIFFERENT SHIRT SIZE?
After the race, you can exchange your shirt from the remaining sizes available.
WHAT IF I NEED TO CHANGE MY WAVE START TIME?
This race is chip timed, so your time will begin when you cross the starting line. You don't need to do anything to change your wave start time. Simply begin with the start wave of your choice.
WHAT WAVE START TIME SHOULD I SELECT?

WHAT TYPE OF TIMING IS BEING USED?
TATHR Event Timing will be timing the event. We will use our new, state of the art MyLaps Bibtag Timing System. Your timing chip will be on the back of your racing number bib. Participants must wear their number on the FRONT of their outer most garment. Participants must wear a race number bib to get an official time and be included in the results.
WHERE CAN I FIND RESULTS AFTER THE RACE?
Results will be posted here on the race website online and can be found by scanning the QR code on your bib. You may also enter the Results Kiosk after the race and type in your bib number on one of the laptops to receive a print out of your time and pace.

Good afternoon, runners!!Unfortunately, this rainy weather is going to stick around a few more days and put a huge damper on our preview run. Right now, we can't get out to the Boling Park on the trail to see the conditions and the park doesn't want to close the trail until the last possible moment. In order to keep our runners safe, we have opted to cancel the run for Sunday morning. Without having the course thoroughly marked, we risk runners getting lost, hurt, etc. Hopefully, we can get it rescheduled and have our preview run within a week or two. We will post on Facebook and our events page. Keep an eye out for it!!
Volunteer
Looking for a way to stay involved with the running community and give back? This is a great way to serve others as they push for a new distance or time PR. We have a variety of volunteer positions unique to each event.

Results
Our state of the art Results Kiosk make it easy for you to access results immediately at the race. Simply enter the Results Kiosk tent and see results scrolling on a large TV. You can also print at one of our results kiosk laptops and get a certificate with your time and pace.
