Los Gatos Creek Trail Run

Los Gatos, CA 1/2 Marathon, 10K, 5K

This Event Took Place Sat. Feb 25, 2017

Thursday 2/23 update: Vasona Lake County Park - Los Gatos, CA

Hi, Runners!
Great news, as after the rains and flooding of Vasona and the Los Gatos Creek Trail, we are a go for Saturday! The latest weather report calls for clear skies in the morning with rain later in the day. But that could change... fingers crossed. We are lucky to have some of the Silicon Valley Roller Girls to keep you moving and grooving on course and at one of the Aid Stations.

We will also be having RACE DAY REGISTRATION!
Cash or Check. If you are able please bring as close to exact change as possible. There is a real good chance you will get a shirt, but maybe not the size or style you prefer. Priority to those early registrants. We have 80 signed up and printed 94 shirts. We anticipate 6-8 no-shows and 10-12 race day registrants. The math works in your favor. Fees are below:
Half Marathon -$85
10K - $75
5K - $70

FREE KIDS RACES with Finisher Medals too. If you have friends or families watching and waiting for you, then we have some fun for them:
2 year olds - 50 Foot Dash
3 year olds - 100 Foot Dash
4 year olds - 200 Foot Dash
5 year olds and up - 1/4 mile run/walk

Be safe, well, and we will see you Saturday.
Greg & Jennifer

All three distances will start and finish in Vasona Lake County Park in Los Gatos, CA. This a beautiful park that has all sorts of activities for your entertainment pleasure, including a train ride on the Billy Jones Wildcat Rail Road. The races will be run or walked on the Los Gatos Creek Trail heading east towards Campbell. Each distance will have a turn around point. You choose the bike pathway asphalt or the dirt shoulder (part of the trail system) if that is what you prefer.

Get Fit Go Fast!

Welcome to the first of four events in our "Get Fit Go Fast!" race series.

Watch the Just Run Campaign video here

JUST RUN is a free, multifaceted youth fitness program developed by the Big Sur International Marathon in 2005. It not only promotes exercise and the sport of running but also good citizenship and healthy eating by its Just Deeds and Just Taste features. JUST RUN is an ongoing program. One of its goals is to have the children realize that exercise is part of a healthy lifestyle and should be incorporated into their lives on a daily basis. Schools, individual classes, and groups can register at any time. JUST RUN is non-competitive and helps all children feel pride in accomplishment. These events are intended to encourage individuals and families of all ages to come out for some easy running or walking. Traditionally, Pacific Coast Trail Runs has been producing trail runs on dirt in mountains. Hopefully, if you haven't already, will try one of our fantastic events on dirt trails.
