The Hilton is less than a mile from World of Beer and is 30 minutes from the race. There is a Comfort Inn about 15 min away but it doesn't compare to the Hilton and they couldn't match the price the Hilton gave us.
11/8/17 Update: Course situation. If the race were today, we would be doing 3 or 6 loops of 5 miles on Sunburn Meadow, Wrots O Ruts and Calcutta Ridge. The Tree of Life would be an Aid Station in addition to the Start/Finish. But the race is not today and there is another Work Party on Saturday November 18th. The completely realistic goal is to clear 3 Bridges and Tractor Lane, making the course consist of 2 or 4 loops of 8 miles each. You would hit the Tree of Life Aid Station twice on this route. My money is on this one because I will personally finish clearing those trails if we don't get it all in the work party. The last option is the most ideal because it makes Caloosahatchee what it is. There is a rumor of another work party the Saturday after Thanksgiving to work on the Far East but attendance is in question due to the Holiday. I will be there and will do everything in my power to make the Caloosahatchee Ultra what it is supposed to be. If any of you would like to get registered as a county volunteer to come help during the work parties, it is easy to do at http://www.leegov.com/parks/volunteers
Bibs and Finishers Pint Glasses have been ordered. Will upload picture when art is complete.
Shirt order has to be placed Friday November 17th so we have to set Noon that day as the deadline to guarantee the style and size shirt you get.
The 5th Annual Caloosahatchee Ultra 50k and Keith Carlton Memorial 25k is run on an exciting 10.5 mile loop counterclockwise on varying terrain with beautiful views, rolling hills and some tough technical stretches in Caloosahatchee Regional Park. The course will run the perimeter of the North side along Green, Black and Blue trails.Tailwind Nutrition will be providing the electrolyte drink for all runners. There will be two fully stocked aid stations with all the regular goodies ranging from chips and pretzels to M&M's and Gummy Bears, PB&J, potatoes, and even bacon!! There will be a mini Aid Station out at the entrance to the Far East with at least water to help get you back to the Tree of Life A/S. Park has a no alcohol/no dogs policy so discretion is necessary.
Back again for 2017....pick your shirt style!!! Register before 11/15 and you can select what type of shirt you want. Men can have a singlet or the standard unisex tech shirt. Women can choose from singlet, v-neck or the unisex tech shirts. The tech shirts will be black with white ink while the singlets will be white with black ink this year.
