Straight Run Road

Wellsboro, Pa 50K, 25K, 15K

This Event Took Place Sun. Oct 7, 2018

One Darn Tough Mountain Race...

The Green Monster is a trail challenge designed for both runners and hikers of all ages and abilities, offering a 15k, 25k and Monsterous 50k option for the overachieving sadists among us. This course is nestled in the mountains of the Tioga State Forest just North of the PA Grand Canyon and is the mission of the Tyoga Running Club to showcase the beauty and difficulty of this terrain. You will be confronted with beautiful rolling single track trails, hellacious steep climbs, abundant stream crossings, and some gnarly technical descents - all of which add to your wild experience and the joy of dragging your haggard soul across the finish line! This course is not for the faint of heart and will challenge even the most conditioned athlete!

**CUT-OFF TIME LIMITS for 50K runners has been addended (as of 2023) - please make sure you're up to date on those time restrictions!

Also PLEASE read over the REFUND POLICY on our website! We're simple folks, so we like to keep it simple without the hassle of a '20% refund before the 3rd harvest moon' yadda yadda. Simply put, NO REFUNDS, that's how we roll.

Word to the Wise: Our race capacity is limited to 350 participants. Historically, this race will reach capacity before online registration closes on midnight September 29th, so don’t slack if you’ve got those Monsterish vibes - commit and sign up! A wait-list will then be generated on a first-come-first-serve basis. There is NO DAY-OF REGISTRATION.

We are local in every way, from the medals and t-shirts to the food and beverages. A wide array of boisterous local clubs and organizations will maintain your Aid Stations - they are the heartbeat of this event and they will bring the cheer, along with ample nutrition to keep your trail-worn Monster soul pushing forward. Never will you say MORE COWBELL!

We are fortunate to have strong relationships and generous support from our sponsors who are inspired by all of you who participate. Their commitment will allow us to bring a race day experience filled with entertainment, great food, and support from beginning to end, resulting in positive memories for you to take home.
