Information

This race is not for you if you do not like a challenge. The high heat and climbs of Northern California keeps the finishing rate of this race under 55% every year. Come test yourself.

From Cool to Folsom; this course follows the Nineteenth Century gold miners path along the North Fork of the American River.
This path was worn in by miners in search of a good sand bar for gold panning.

Eventually their path would become known as the Pioneer Express Trail: the most express route from the gold fields along the American river to Folsom.

The course starts at the Cool Horse Staging Area in Cool, CA., runners will complete a clover leaf style loop and then will connect to the Pioneer Express Trail toward Folsom by using the Western States trail. The race will end along the American River Bike path at Beals Point Recreation Area, where camping and lake access is available.

The course is 99% trail.

Bring your swim suits, there is water on the lake!

50 mile finishers will receive a long sleeve jacket along with all the extra swag STR is known for.
