Description
The 2nd annual K-9k Dog-Friendly Trail Run and Family Fun Dog Walk encourages competitors to run or walk with their dogs on a new-for-2014 trail course design from Wild Trails on the grounds of the McKamey Center and neighboring parks. The event is crafted so that you can take on whatever level of challenging outdoor activity you and your canine enjoy.
The 9k is a competitive, timed, trail run; dogs must be off-leash and trained in order to compete. Runners may choose to run without a canine companion, as well.
If you are not a competitive runner but enjoy spending time outdoors with your dog, the 2-mile Family Fun Dog Walk is the perfect way for you and your dog to take a stroll or a jog on the trail with your companion to join in all the fun and excitement of the event at the pace you prefer. Dogs must be leashed for the Family Fun Dog Walk.
