Description

4th Annual Orange Beach Ultra. This is a fat ass event -- There will be no awards, shirts, or bib numbers. Please bring your own food, supplies, and gear. We will have a modest aid station with the basic ultra snacks and drinks. There's a pavilion located at the start/finish line, and you will have access to your belongings every loop.
New for 2019 -- 3.25 mile distance added (1 loop).
Your entry fee goes to pay for the insurance, and the entry limit is 35 (15 for 3.25 mile, and 20 for 50k). Donations are accepted, and will be given to the state park. The course is paved asphalt with a couple of wooden bridge crossings; a loop course, each loop is 3.25 miles (9 loops = 29.25 miles total), the 10th and final loop will be an out-and-back portion to complete the addition 1.85 miles needed for 31.1 miles (50k). The trails are open to the public, so please be mindful of other walkers/runners, bicyclist, bird watchers, snakes, alligators, etc.

From East: Take FL-292 W (crossing into Alabama), Continue onto AL-182 W/Perdido Beach Blvd, Slight right toward AL-161 N/Alabama's Coastal Connection/Orange Beach Blvd, Turn left onto Alabama's Coastal Connection/Canal Rd, Turn left onto William Silvers Pkwy (proceed approximately 1/2 mile), once you reach the entrance of the park, make a slight left into the parking lot, and drive all the way to the back where you will see the entrance to the running trail and the big Backcountry Trail sign as pictured in the banner photo on the UltraSignUp.com registration page.

Start Time and Cutoff

The park is only open from sunrise to sunset. Both races will start promptly at 7:30 a.m. (CST). You must finish the 50k no later than 7:30 p.m. (CST) to make it in the 12 hour time cutoff. Running a 50k (31.1 miles) in 12 hours requires you to average at least a 23:10 min/mile pace.
