Overview

The newest event in the Barn to Run Trail Race Series, the Adams Farm Trail Run will be Sunday, October 27, 2019 at Adams Farm in Walpole, MA. This event will feature 4 race distances to choose from including 3.4, 6 and 8 mile races for runners of all ages and abilities. Plus, as a new wrinkle to the series, the event features a 2 mile Canicross race where individuals run with their harnessed dog.

Each race starts and ends with the Blue trail which is a combination of wide trails with footing on hardpacked dirt and loose gravel as well as single track with typical trail conditions ranging from grass, exposed roots, rocks, crushed leaves and pine needles, etc. The 6 and 8 mile races also utilize sections of the Orange, White and Red trails which are generally more narrow singletrack with lots of fun switchbacks.

In addition to a well-supported and marked course, all runners get some swag (a soft cotton, gender specific t-shirt if you register by 10/11 or a Barn to Run Hoo-Rag if you register after) and are treated to post race food (e,g, Clif Bars, bananas and cider donuts!) & drinks, receive race photos and have a chance at terrific giveaways from our sponsors. Plus, all runners age 14 or under also receive a free pumpkin and there will be a pumpkin painting station for decorating it!

Sunday, 10/27/19: RACE DAY!

* 7:30am: Packet pick-up/registration begins at Adams Farm
* 9:00am: Start of the 2 mile Canicross race.
* 9:30am: Start of 6 and 8 mile races
* 9:45am: Start of the 3.4 mile race.
* 10:15am (est): Awards ceremony for the Canicross race
* 11:00am (est): Awards ceremony for the 3.4, 6 and 8 mile races

About Adams Farm

Adams Farm is made up of approximately 365 acres of town-owned land purchased as the result of an override voted in 1997 by the residents of Walpole. It also loosely includes land in private conservation trusts adjacent to the town-owned land and property owned by the New England Forestry Foundation and the Norfolk County Agricultural High School. In total, this adds up to over 700 acres. The property has 10+ miles of trails and features a butterfly garden, a community garden and “The Labyrinth”, a meditative tool used for contemplative walking.
