Laramie

Laramie, WY 100 Miler

This Event Took Place Sat. Jun 25, 2011

Description

Run the rugged trails outside of Laramie, Wyoming in an all day and night endurance festival. Located in the Medicine Bow National Forest, the race takes runners on a 5.8 mile course across the cool high plains just outside this "old west" college town. Unique granite formations decorate the landscape creating a memorable setting. The 5.8 mile loop has approximately 725 feet of climbing with all but 100 feet coming in a single 1.6 mile push. Camping will be under the stars at 8300' but the run will get as low as 8100' and as high as 8800'. The terrain is excellent training for the late season 100 milers (i.e. Leadville). The aid station will be manned by the always exciting Laramie Enduro mountain bike race management. The Laramie Enduro is Laramie's premier endurance mountain bike race, these people know how to put on a party and are an oasis of enthusiasm at all hours of the race. As with all of the races in the 24 Hours...the Run race series, the Base Camp serves hot food throughout the night and creates a social atmosphere for relay racers. The race travels right through the camping area so teams will see their runners coming and will have a chance to prepare to run.
