About the event
Are you tired of the same old trail race game? Pay your money to follow chalk and ribbon over a course you’ve run at another race? Tired of waiting in-line at an obstacle at an event that’s supposed to be “tough”. Well I’m here to present to you a new trail race.
BUT, there is a catch….
You will not know the location of the race until a week before the race.
And…
You will not know the course and distance until you run it, there will be no course information or maps prior to running the race.
Also...
The event will change location every year, never the same race. each race will be a unique event, never to be repeated.
Why you ask are we doing this, I’m glad you asked.
I have been running/hiking/cycling on trails for most of my life. The whole point of being on trails is to see or encounter something unexpected. maybe even experience a little fear of what’s around the next bend. I want this event to give some of that fear back to trail running.
Running the same race the same way can become boring after a while. So every year the race will change. I have 3-4 locations already scouted, but I plan for the “inaugural” event not to hurt too much or be too long of a drive. To my knowledge no other event currently starts where we will be running the first event.
The event might also occur more often than an annual event. Some planned courses for example would be better run at night to avoid the summer heat. Others will be better run in the dead of winter, (think mud, rain and cold temps.)
Like other events I have started, (That Dam(n) Run, Miners Revenge and Salmon Falls 50K) you can expect a challenging course.
You can also expect great swag, awards, excellent course marking and fun!
