Trail work Requirements

Trail work requirements!!! As part of your registration this year we are requiring some trail/volunteer hours. More and more races are hitting our trails, and while we support the Greenbelt trail, we also want others to do the same. So here's the deal. We are asking that each entrant donate 2 hours of their time, that's it. 2 hours between the time you signup, and 4/1/2022. Here are your options
1 - Volunteer with the LI. Greenbelt Association. - You will get an email confirmation that'll have a contact.
2- Volunteer at your local trail or a race near you - We ask that you verify this with a short letter stating you've done so.
3- Donate $20 directly to Long Island Greenbelt Trail - http://www.ligreenbelt.org/index.php

Instructions will be in your confirmation email.

Course Cut offs

As the aid stations get plotted and exact mileage of them gets finalized, we'll post specific times, but the pace is roughly going 18 hrs for the 100k everything else will have the same cut off at night, so if you're a slower 50ker - take your time!

General

This year is a little special, you'll be doing the below in reverse! Unless you're doing the 100k then you'll be going North?south and then back North! ...

Happily Running and the LI Greenbelt are proud to bring you The Shore 2 Shore race, a point to point scenic 50k Taking you from the North shore of Long Island at Sunken Meadow, down through towns and trails, even under Sunrise Hwy, finally finishing at Heckscher State Park. Where will have some post race food for you to bask in your finishing of the inaugural Shore2Shore 50k! Each entrant will get a comfy quality logoed shirt as well as a pretty snazzy medal. Details on each will be released as they come in. $5 of each entry will be donated to LI Greenbelt Trail.

Course Description

The course is 100% on the beautiful Suffolk County Long Island Greenbelt Trail. This trail is well maintained but does occasionally run on road and cross roads. A full map will be downloadable soon, though if you'd like to check out ligreenbelt.org now, they have tons of info. There will be course marking through the course to keep you in the right direction.
