Paint Mines Fun Run (10K'ish)
No pun intended, but the Paint Mines Interpretive Park located in the small Town of Calhan, Colorado simply ROCKS!
Come join the Sasquatch Running Company as we host the Inaugural Paint Mines Fun Run (10K) on Saturday, May 16, 2020. The 10K Paint Mine Fun Run Journey starts at the historic El Paso County Fairgrounds, Home of the 114th El Paso County Fair, and from there Runners will make their way down Paint Mine Road to the Paint Mines Interpretive Park Trailhead. When Runners arrive at the Trailhead, they will be treated with absolutely stunning views of the Colorado Open Range from the Paint Mines Open Space Trail System and also get to see the Calhan Wind Farm wind turbines slowing spinning around off on the horizon. After running a few miles at the Paint Mines Interpretive Park, Runners will make their way back to the Start/Finish Line located at the El Paso County Fairgrounds and be greeted with High Fives by the Sasquatch Running Company Staff/Volunteers!
Run, Walk, or Crawl the Paint Mines Fun Run Course as a Competitor or just for Fun…Your choice! The Fun Run Course will be set up to allow plenty of Sightseeing for those that wish to explore the Paint Mines Interpretive Park on Fun Run Day. Please remember to bring a camera because you will encounter fantastic Clay/Rock Formations along portions of the trail and you don’t want to miss an awesome Selfie Opportunity!!

[1] 10K’ish: The Official Course is still TBD. Please note that the Paint Mines Fun Run Course may exceed more than the 6.2 Miles so this just means More Fun For Everyone!

Aid Stations:
The Paint Mines Fun Run will have 2 FULLY Stocked Aid Stations on course at the Paint Mines Interpretive Park as well as at the Start/Finish Line. Tailwind Hydration will proudly be served at this year’s event.
Awards/Top Finisher Awards:
All Paint Mines Fun Run runners will receive a Finishers Award when they break the tape at the Finish Line. Special Top Finisher Awards will be given to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place Winners (Female & Male) for various Age Categories based on Event Registration Signups.
