About the event

> Now entering its second year, the Run for Pompey (http://runforpompey.com/) commemorates the greatest hero and civil rights leader in Bahamian history. Pompey, a slave living on the island of Exuma, sparked a rebellion in 1830 that is widely seen as the first significant act of disobedience against the trade in the region. Today, Run for Pompey brings together runners, philanthropists and modern day heroes from around the world, to celebrate civil rights, education and the unrivaled beauty of Exuma in the Bahamas.

Ray Zahab

Ray Zahab, world renowned adventurer, philanthropist and ultra marathon runner, will be leading the way on the 50K and doing a motivational speech the night before the race. You can read more about Ray and his causes here: http://rayzahab.com/about
