Hello Wild Horse family,
On behalf of the entire PACE team, we want to thank you for all the unwavering support and patience as we all move through this uncertain time.
These are truly uncharted times and we have been very closely monitoring information and updates around COVID-19, in conjunction with BC recommendations. The situation has been changing on a daily, if not hourly, basis and recent Provincial Health Officer forecasts are that this pandemic and ensuing social distancing guidelines, particularly as it relates to events, will not change soon. While we were hopeful we could consider a postponement, we have made the heart-breaking decision to CANCEL the May 30, 2020, Wild Horse Traverse.
Please understand that this decision did not come lightly. Honestly, one of the hardest parts is that we feel like we are taking “one more thing away” from a community we care deeply for and that we know is trying to hold onto things that bring us joy right now. It breaks our hearts. Having said that, we feel assured this is the right thing to do and we are confident that our community will only grow stronger as we make our way through this.
An email was sent to all registered racers with full details on April 2nd. It would have been sent to the email you use to log into your Ultra SignUp account. Please email us if you didn't receive it: email@example.com - Thank you.
NO HORSE, YES HORSE CHALLENGE
Although our event has been cancelled, we have created a fun NO HORSE, YES HORSE CHALLENGE for our racers to help them stay connected with their goals and win some great prizes from our sponsors Hammer Nutrition Canada and Salomon. DETAILS ON THE 2021 EVENT WILL BE ANNOUNCED THIS FALL
Wild horse Traverse is a 50km destination trail running race that is part of the PACE Trail Race Series. This challenging point to point race starts on the beautiful beaches of Okanagan Lake, in Kelowna, BC and traverses through Okanagan Mountain Provincial Park, along the Kettle Valley Railway (KVR), past vineyards & parks on the Naramata Bench and finishes on another beautiful beach, all the way in the quaint town of Naramata. This event is unique from others in our series, in that it only offers one distance and runners need to be comfortable being self-sufficient in remote terrain, as aid stations are limited due to remote access. While runners can expect the same quality trail selection and event vibe as our other races have, this particular race course has a unique mixture when it comes to the course. The route is challenging and has approx. 2000m ascent and descent. We have put a lot of creativity into our finish line to make it a super fun party, that we doubt you'll want to leave. Please visit our main website for all the juicy details: www.pacetrailseries.com
