To become a Trail Runners Club member, you simply sign up here on UltraSignup ($40), with the option to have your partner or family join (additional $15).
With your membership is included: a weekly plotted out course rotating the starting locations around the Santa Monica Mountains and sometimes beyond, new friendships, lots of laughs, intense sweat sessions, if desired added on out of breath conversations with complementary therapy sessions, sunrise adventures with amazing photo opportunities.
Each member will get a club logo TRUCKER HAT and a club logo FACE MASK handed to you in person before or after the run.


The Trail Runners Club, founded in 1988, meets every Sunday morning to run one of many courses throughout the beautiful Santa Monica Mountains, sometimes also in the San Gabriel mountains and other areas in Southern California away from the noise, smells and dangers of urban Los Angeles, mileage usually somewhere between 10 & 15 miles but with the option to go shorter or longer. We run only on single track trails and fire roads. Having more than 50 courses mapped out we run every week somewhere else, starting at different trail heads. We are a non profit, non competitive running club but promote physical well-being and friendships through running. We have members from all walks of life and at every skill level. Most of our runs are marked so you don't have to worry about getting lost! We also provide the course on Strava.

COVID-19 restrictions

Currently we have staggered individual start times ,every 5 minutes, members get access to an online sign up sheet a couple days before the scheduled run. This way we ensure proper distancing and avoid group gatherings on the trailheads and on trails. We insist members wear a face covering on trail heads and when passing other runners or hikers on trail while always maintaining the proper distance protocol when possible. We ask that everyone is respecting these safety guidelines during this pandemic.
Members should have an email in their mailbox weekly by the end of Friday night with details for the following Sunday run.
Currently we have runs scheduled week by week until these unprecedented times are over, then we'll have a full schedule again weeks or months in advance, just like the old times.
