What
We are a club for enthusiasts of orienteering, mountaineering, and endurance challenges. We're organized as a Colorado 403(c) non-profit. Though our events are generally located in Western Colorado, we expect to also draw membership from neighboring regions as well as seasonal visitors.
We specialize in unusual event formats! We plan to hold club training and practice sessions, as well as standard runs, climbs, and orienteering meets now and then, geared especially for novices and students.
Membership Benefits
Some of our free events will be restricted to club members for liability reasons. In addition, club members will receive a discount on any of our events that carry a fee. Once our club builds, we will also hold an annual gathering. Finally, members can vote on certain governance issues.
Cost
Fees are $15 for 2023. This should help cover some of our basic overhead, such as club insurance, regulatory and organizational fees, and the website.
Families
If you have several people in the same household that want to become members, you can pay one fee per household. Register the first person in your household the regular way. Email us for a coupon for your additional household members. You will need a separate ultrasignup login for each person you want to register as a member.
Notes for 2023
Last year, our club was still getting off the ground. We had several events, but not all club functions were operational, such as the annual meeting and voting.
Seems we still owe everyone some of the promised benefits! If you were a paid member in 2022, we will roll your membership over for 2023. When you sign up for 2023 membership, you should see a 100% credit at checkout.
Your membership confirmation will include a coupon code for obtaining the club discount when applying for any of our 2023 events that charge a registration fee. In addition, if you served as a volunteer for one or more of our 2022 events, you can claim a free entry to any of our 2023 events. Email us for a 100% coupon code.
If you're interested in serving as a board member, please let us know if when you apply for 2023 membership (and tell us a little bit about yourself and what you would bring to the board). The general membership will elect at least one new board member during our May meeting. A board member's term is three years.
Our May meeting is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday May 17, 7 pm at Fellin Park and will be open to the public. For matters subject to a vote of the membership, including the election of new board members, votes will be accepted through noon on Saturday May 20.
