Rumble on the Ridge

Rumble on the Ridge is a take on the traditional Backyard Ultra Last Person Standing. The event will take place on an old dairy farm just 40 minutes west of Madison, WI in the heart of the Driftless Area. Participants will compete on a 1ish mile looped course, dubbed "The Driftless Mile", completing a loop every 20 minutes.
Sounds easy enough right?....Within the 1.1 mile loop you’ll nearly 300 feet of elevation gain via a .4 mile climb up an active access road to the top of the ridge, single tracks along the spine of the ridge, back down the hill on an old snowmobile path (with an average grade of -18%) before running the base of the hill back to the start. And just to keep it interesting we are going to reverse the course every 3 hours to save your quads from the downhill….You can thank us later.
All participants will receive a soft blend race t-shirt.
Winner receives bragging rights for a year, a free entry into next year’s event to defend their title and a unique winner award. Anyone who reaches the 100 mile club (91laps) will also win Driftless Endurance swag.

Driftless Trail

All donations and a percentage of the proceeds from the event will go directly to the planning and building of the Driftless Trail. The Driftless Area Land Conservancy (DALC) is leading this project to build the Driftless Trail which is a planned 50-mile loop that connects Tower Hill, Governor Dodge, and Blue Mounds State Parks. This is a foot-only trail, to be used for hiking, running, snowshoeing, or cross country skiing wandering through the woods, prairies, farms, bluffs and streams of Iowa County’s Driftless landscape.

More information on this project can be found on the DALC website.
