Registration for this race is open, however, this race is subject to state and local regulations related to the COVID-19 crisis.

We are hopeful that this race will take place, however, if canceled, we highly encourage rollovers to our races that have are confirmed to go this summer in the high sierra, otherwise refunds, minus processing fees, will be processed. Thank you.

Race Information

It is with great excitement that we present the trail running community with an exclusive trail racing event; Troy’s Sierra Azul Ultras!

Join us for over 12,000 feet of elevation gain on a 100K, 50 mile, 50K, or Trail Marathon adventure that will take you through mystical oak forests, endless meadows, and steep climbs in the Santa Clara Valley, Sierra Azul Open Space Preserve, and the Santa Cruz Mountains.

Be careful what you wish for, these Ultra Races are not for the faint of heart.

There is a 130 Runner Limit for this Race.

The Trail Difficulty: Intermediate/Advanced

The Sierra Azul Ultras is a trail runner’s dream come true.
Surface: Mostly fire roads, dirt roads, and plenty of single-track trails
Course: Santa Clara Valley and the Sierra Azul Open Space Preserve.
Elevation Profile: Long climbs/descents; hitting over 12,000ft of elevation gain.
Sunrise And Sunset: 05:47:53 AM and 08:31:10 PM
Weather: California Summer, Highs – 90 degrees / Lows 54 degrees.Lots of potential heat and sun exposure.
Parking: Plenty of free parking is available for this event, however carpooling is encouraged.
Awards: All runners receive a Commemorative Medal. Male/Female winners for each distance will receive a winning medal.

Course Information

Multiple, fully loaded, aid stations will be open throughout the course.
All Runners are highly encouraged to carry the equivalent of 2 water bottles/camelback at all times.
Sunscreen/hats are highly encouraged to protect against heat exposure.
100K Runners should come prepared to run after the sun sets, please bring a change of clothing for your drop bags and headlamps/other lights.
This is a wilderness course; please be aware of your surroundings and potential wildlife encounters; Rattlesnakes, Mountain Lions, Wild Boars, Mosquitoes, Skunks, Raccoons, Bees, Poison Oak, Etc.
All intersections will be marked with signs, gypsum, and ribbons. Several portions of the course will be unmarked as there are no turnoffs.
Pacers, Crew-members, and family/friends are allowed on all our trails to follow runners. Specific parking accessible aid stations are highlighted below. Please refer to Aid Station section below for further information.

Aid Stations and Cut Off Times

Aid Stations, Drop Bags, Pacers, and More.

All aid stations will remain open until the last runner comes in.
Runners that do not meet cutoff times will be driven back to the start.
Crew and support can follow and supply runners at the indicated aid stations. Parking is available but limited, please plan on carpooling.
Pacers are allowed for the 100K runners starting at Mile 47.
