Legend Brewing Ultra

NIGHT TRAIL RUN

Powhatan, VA 12hrs, 12hr 2 Per Relay

This Event Took Place Sat. Sep 23, 2017

Get Your Headlamps Out...

The concept is simple: you have 12 hours. How far can you mentally and physically push yourself through the night?

Course Overview

The course follows an 8 mile horse trail.* The trail itself is roughly half winding single track and half wide double track. The majority of the trail surface is dirt but you can also expect to encounter crushed gravel and about 1/3 of a mile of asphalt. The trails are typically traveled by horses so there will be (especially in wet areas) deep hoof prints which should be traversed carefully. You will encounter quite a few technical sections (roots, switchbacks, uneven terrain, mud, stream crossings, loose stones. etc...) but there are some non-technical sections for runners to enable you to stretch your legs.

Two staffed aid stations will be along the course and will be stocked with water. The start/finish line will have light snacks, water, and hot water.

This will be a chip timed event. Only full loops will be counted to run length total. All timing will stop at 8AM promptly so any full loops completed after 8AM will not be counted. Runners will not be permitted to start their final loop after 6:30 AM.

?*Course distance subject to change based on trail conditions

Relay

We have added a two person relay option for the Legend Brewing Ultra! Grab a buddy and see how many laps you can knock out before you knock out. This will be a free form relay where teams can run together if they so choose. Each member of a relay team will have to run two laps to "finish" but teams are encouraged to run as many laps as they can before time expires.
