    Has anyone run the 50K before? Seems like one of the biggest challenges will be the July heat (and any bug issues)...

      Did the 50K last year, Aaron. With a 6a.m. start, the heat was not an issue for me until the latter miles. The earlier portion of the race is substantially more shaded than the later. Hydrate early, no problems. I saw and heard of no real bug issues except for a few "bee bushes".
