NEW DEAL 50K
Inspired by the JFK 50 miler we have it's little sister course; New Deal 50K @ FDR State Park in Pine Mountain GA. It's a great mix of road and trail to keep things interesting. Enjoy a day of rolling hills on the road followed by gentle ups and downs on the trail. This is a virtual event that takes place on an actual course. Participants have all of April to complete this race. This is a FREE race but you have an option for a T-shirt and sticker if you want or a Dirtbagger Tie Dye hoodie!
April 27th the Picnic Pavillion #2 we'll have a group run starting there. This will be a self supported group run for everyone if your looking for your solo adventure with a group and people waiting at the end to hang out!

The Course starts at the Picnic Shelter #2 inside the park. Runners run the road out of the park to highway 190 and take a left on 190. Follow 190 all the way to hwy 85 and take a left and go about .15 to the Cascade Falls Trail Head and then jump on the PMT. Take the PMT all the way to the pool trail and take the pool trail to the lake loop and then follow that around back to the picnic pavilion finish. About 10.5 on the road and the rest on trail.
SELF SUPPORTED/ DIRTBAGGER
This is a self supported event. You must take care of yourself in order to complete this race. This course has spots that help if you drop aid at the trail heads off the main road; Fox Den, Molly Hugger, &/or Rocky Point. You can access all trail heads as you pass by on the road and trail.
In an era of lottery tickets, stones, and points; sometimes ultra running needs to get back to the roots of the days of runners doing long runs and using old syrup bottles for water bottles, putting their own aid in a bag on the side of the road, and running for the reward of finishing the run! We've over complicated races to the point where every step is marked so this race is the opposite. Work your 50+ hour work week, put the course on your phone, throw a some pbj's in your pack, sleep in your car before the run, dirtbagger style, and finish the race!
RESULTS
Once you register for the race we'll contact you to join the race group on Strava. You must have Strava for results (it's free). All results will be verified by Strava after each participant finishes. We will post results on ultrasignup after your results are verified on Strava.
AWARDS
Top male & female will win a free entry to a Lady of the Lake race of their choice in September.
Shirts, Hoodies, and Stickers
Shirts & hoodies will be mailed by April 27th. There is a small inventory of hoodies now and they'll be mailed 1st come 1st serve in January. The rest will be mailed by April 27th too.
