Entry Procedures/Qualification/Fees
Registration: The 2013 SD 100 is scheduled for Saturday, June 8, 2013. Registration for the 2013 race is closed. The official entrant's list is now posted.
Qualification for the 2013 event requires applicants to have completed an official 50 mile run in under 13 hours within the past two years: January 1, 2011 to February 1, 2013. Completion of any official 100 mile or 100K run (at any time in your career) will also serve as a qualifier. All entrants will be required to complete 6 hours of trail maintenance prior to the event (not necessary prior to registration) as a mandatory requirement for participation.
Entry Fee: The entry fee for the 2012 SD100 will be $220 plus the Ultra Signup fee. A refund of $100 will be given if an entrant decides to withdraw from the event and notifies the Race Director on or before April 15, 2013. No refunds, transfers, or rollovers thereafter.
Description
The San Diego 100 course is 95% single track mountain course which covers four recreational areas in the east county mountains of San Diego. The race begins in the Big Laguna Mountain Recreational Area and transitions north on the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) to Noble Canyon, Cuyamaca State Park and back on the PCT to Big Laguna. A very challenging course with approximately 15,000' feet of elevation change and a 32 hour time limit.
Location
The race start and finish are located at the Al Bahr Shrine Camp (off of Sunrise Highway) near Mt Laguna Recreational Area which is about 50 miles east of downtown San Diego. There is camping and RV space at the Camp with nearby lodging at the Big Laguna Lodge, or in neighboring Pine Valley, Julian, or Alpine. Lodging is at a premium so please make reservations and/or arrangements early. Contact the RD to reserve space for RV's and camping at Al Bahr.
