Lake James Trail Run
Thanks for your interest in the 2013 version of the Lake James Trail Run.
This course area is the most spectacular single track ridge line in the SouthEast. It is fragile. And it is remote. In 2012 our friends at the USFS provided a permit for a sanctioned run. In 2013 they did not do so. This is, perhaps, the next generation of trail running. Some cool photos are at www.LakeJamesRun.com
When: You can run the course at any time in 2013. Repeatedly.
Where and How: After you register, then we will provide a detailed map, turn-by-turn instructions, suggested gear list, suggested app, and access to a digital scoreboard. You can run the course at any time. Post your fastest time.
Distance: Approximately 50k. 1% is paved, 18% is on gravel roads, and the remaining 81% is on spectacular single track trails.
Awards: On December 30, 2013 we will determine the winners by age and gender categories. And we will send you cash awards. Tee shirts will also be mailed to those who are registered by 12.15.13
Cost: We recommend a donation of at least $55. Our intention is to support each racer, and raise money for local beneficiaries
Beneficiary: If there is any profit for this new approach to trail running, then we will give it to a local beneficiary (possibilities include the NC Outward Bound School, or the Burke County Rescue Team.)
